A New Year

12/31/2006

It is time again to bid adieu to another year and a time to welcome new beginnings, new resolutions, new seasons. I love the New Year. To me it is like a new birth. A time of re-beginning. It always gives me hope and happiness. I look back on the previous year, say goodbye to the bad times and take only the good with me into this New Year.

Here is a poem that says what is in my heart much more eloquently than my words ever can <smiles> .

A New Year’s Poem: (author unknown)

To leave the old with a burst of song
To recall the right and forgive the wrong;
To forget the thing that binds you fast
To the vain regrets of the year that’s past;
To have the strength to let go your hold
Of the not worthwhile of the days grown old,
To dare to go forth with a purpose true,
To the unknown task of the year that’s new;
To help your brother along the road
To do his work and lift his load;
To add your gift to the world’s good cheer,
Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.

I wish everyone a very healthy, happy and peaceful New Year.

Peace on Earth

A Video that I was drawn to.  I am not sure why, only that I was.  Maybe it is its meaning or mood.

From  SandraEgidio

And the Earth was called to witness…Lo And the Earth was called to witness…Love…And so The Earth’s Representative witnessed her past…
And Her Royal Words were felt by Kosmos as a dove…
And Her Eyes of Understanding were seen at last…

Prospero’s Speech

And now my charms are all o’erthrown,
And what strength I have’s mine own;
Which is most faint; now t’is true,
I must be here confined by you…
…But release me from my bands
With the help of your good hands:
Gentle breath of yours my sails
Must fill, or else my project fails,
Which was to please. Now I want
Spirits to enforce, art to enchant;
And my ending is despair,
Unless I be relieved by prayer,
Which pierces so that it assaults
Mercy itself and frees all faults.
As you from your crimes would pardon’d be,
Let your indulgence set me free.
